The news came on 8th Oct 2010 that Hero Honda has launched the much awaited version of the bike. This is the latest version in the passion .

Speaking of the features and styling, Hero Honda has priced the new version to a reasonable cost of Rs. 46,300 such that the bike would serve every sport lover of the country. Hero Honda, with the launch of its CWG version, wanted to bag in sport lovers of the country.

Hero Honda Passion Pro

They say a dog is a man’s best friend, the reasons are numerous, they are reliable, less demanding, loyal and obedient, if ever there was a strong contender for the number 2 spot, nothing would fit the bill better than a 100cc from Hero Honda. This is also the family purpose bike in gives super millage. This gives a super comfortability and good will.
Hero Honda Passion Pro
They have been in the country for the past two and a half decades, surpassing the sales figures of all other companies by leaps and bounds and making as much money as a small country. Creating a machine that is reliable on Indian conditions is not exactly the easiest of tasks, for starters, it should be able to withstand really harsh weather, bad roads, overloads, rough driving all with a few cuts and bruises. For the average man nothing did it like a Hero Honda, whether it was to drop off his kids at school or to reach office on time through the gridlocked roadways, it did it all at the least possible expense.
Over the years, Hero Honda has evolved from making basic 100cc motorcycles to more performance oriented machines while maintaining its acclaimed reliability and quality standards. New designs, new varieties have all been introduced to make sure that they stay on top of the game. One of their latest offerings in the 100cc segment, which happens to be one of the most popular in the country, is the new Passion Pro. Read on as we take it for a spin and tell you everything about this highly successful machine.
Mr Bency happened to be a teacher at a Microsoft authorized education centre in Kerala, he owned a 2006 Pulsar which he took great care of, eventually its performance and mileage dropped to a point where he thought it was wise to sell it off and acquire something newer, He travels about 30-40 Kms a day and wanted something that would deliver great mileage and was long lasting. After a little bit of research on the newer 150cc bikes on the market, he felt that a 100cc would be better suited to his needs. He then headed to the Hero Honda showroom in the area where they showed him the new Passion. A short test drive and he was satisfied and determined to purchase the bike.
A few days later, it was in his garage, shiny and new. I managed to take it out for a spin to find out what it is like
First Impressions: I learned to ride on a Hero Honda Splendor, considering the fact that the new passion had just a newer, improved version of the same old engine, I did not expect too much. The new look has spiced things of the bike and even though it’s the same basic design as the first passion, I’m sure it will help in the sales aspect.
Hero Honda Passion Pro (4)
Hero Honda Passion Pro felt really light once I sat on it, the new switch gear did everything well and the best new feature you would find though is the electric start which can be of a great convenience. I rode it for a while around the city and then took it over to the highway for a little bit of cruising.
Engine & Performance: This is one aspect where nothing really needs to be said, It features the bulletproof, reliable, low maintenance, high efficiency engine that can be found on the 100cc splendors, as you may know, it has set sales records in the country and has helped make Hero Honda one of the biggest two wheeler manufacturers in the world, As most of you my already know, spare parts are simply not a problem for this engine as its components are among the most simple and basic ones that exist today. Having sold so many bikes in the past, expect the parts to be available anywhere and also at a comparatively low cost.
Once Passion Pro is fired up, the familiar engine note comes into play, albeit a little more refined. The gearbox is a closely spaced 4 speed unit with an all down shift pattern. It has to be said that the box is in a league of its own in terms of refinement, you could literally shift to fourth gear and back to neutral while standing still, this is one feat most modern bikes find hard to accomplish. As you get going, the close spacing of the gearbox lets you know that it has been tuned to be ridden, care free in the congested city areas we are all used to. You barely need to shift back and forth and it pulls acceptably well in any gear. Ideal cruising speed is around 40-60Km/h and though it is capable of hitting the 100Kmph mark, it feels much better down there. The engine also sounds like it’s being thrashed at high RPMs, the sound is neither too sporty or too comforting, it seems like the sound aspect was not paid much attention to by the folks over at Hero Honda.
Hero Honda Passion Pro (2)
If you are wondering about the actual numbers, this bike produces 7.8Ps of power at 7500 RPM and makes about 8Nm of torque at around 4500 RPM. These may not seem like a lot but considering the fact that this is simply a no-nonsense commuter bike, its enough. Hero Honda also claims a great mileage of about 65 to 75 kmpl.
Ride, Handling and Ergonomics: This is where it really comes into its element, as soon as you sit on the Hero Honda Passion Pro, you feel it’s well cushioned seats, and as you ride along, notice the neutral riding position which somehow balances the weight and manages not to stress your arms or your back. The suspension feels slightly firm when riding alone, but when there is a pillion on board, it becomes much softer and more comfortable, speaking of which, the pillion’s seat is really wide and comfortable and is actually much better that some of the 150cc bikes on the market. The bike can chew up bad roads really well while being stable and rigid.
Hero Honda Passion Pro (3)
It’s really easy to maneuver this thing around the cities because of its light weight and slightly raised handlebar, but at higher speeds, the bike feels less confident. On the whole, it is great for riding around bad roads and through cities with a pillion on board.
The brakes do a great job in stopping the machine, Hero Honda also offers a disc brake option, I do think that the stock drum brakes do a good job by itself and offers the advantage of being able to work well in wet conditions, go for the disc if you would be riding around fast or if you like more feel and sharpness from the brakes
Design & Features: The Passion Pro has been given a new look with the choice of bright colored paintjobs and graphics, the new look is a welcome change from the old age designs of the earlier machines and though it’s basically the same basic shape, it manages to be different.
One feature found on earlier bikes is the glove box under the tank which can be opened by a key, it has enough space to store a tool kit and a pair of gloves. The instrument cluster consists of just the speedo and the fuel gauge, just the way it was on the first passion.
Stuff That’s Not So Cool
  • It’s hard to point out something wrong with a great bike but there are a few things that I felt that could have been improved,
  • The design has been the same for a lot of years, the only improvements being a slightly reshaped headlamp and a few shiny colours and graphics, apart from these changes, you would not find anything that’s different in design from the earlier machines, I do think it was time that Hero Honda gave it a completely new look.
  • It’s also not very exciting, the engine sounds plain, the sitting position is just neutral, and you would rarely even find a reason to take it to the workshop, all this makes it a bit boring in my opinion, as the guys at Hero Honda would say, Fill it, Shut it, forget it. A bike in this day and age needs to be a little more than that.
Our Verdict: Passion Pro costs about 51,000 Rs on the road in Kerala, So if you are looking for a no nonsense, reliable, long lasting, acceptably good looking, comfortable, and efficient 100cc bike, look no further.

Hero Honda New Karizma R

I feel really proud to write a review this great bike. Hero Honda Karizma is the best that has been launched in India. Now it gets even better with the all new racer edition : The New Karizma R. The price of Karizma is Rs.84000 and the engine packs an awesome 17 horse power in a 223cc Engine..
Hero Honda Karizma
How does it look?
Indian bikers always wished for a bike like this, a real sporty looking bike, and their dreams have come true with the Karizma. On the first look, people would comment that the bike looks like a fighter jet! The air pockets in the front of the tank has been very precisely carved to blend aerodynamics with beauty.

Hero Honda’s Engineers have put in several months of work in developing their flagship model Karizma. It is not easy to bring a foreign style to India without compromising the engine capacity and mileage (which are the most important factors for Indian bikes). The is technically the first bike in India in which the doom blends with the main body of the bike. One big advantage of this is that the handle bars are free to turn because there is no extra weight attached to it (like the head light and dashboard). Karizma is the first bike in India which came with pre-installed alloy wheels.
I like the tail part of Karizma very much. This is perhaps the only bike in India which features dual tail lamps. When you look at the tail part, it does look like a jet. The slogan ‘Jet Set Go’ is perfect. The seat is little raised for the pillion rider which gives it a really sporty look. The bike has been so perfectly designed that I could not imagine a suggestion for improvement. Considering the overall size of the bike, the tail part does seem to have the right size. In Pulsar, you can notice that the tail is too small compared to the size of its tank, but in Karizma the proportion of the sizes of various parts is perfect.

Hero Honda Karizma
How does it perform?
I can talk about performance all day long, because I have been personally using Karizma for the past four years! But I will try to keep this short and only highlight the main points.
Karizma is undoubtedly the bike with the highest horse power in India. (Considering bikes within the 1 Lakh Range). For a bike of 223 cc, 17 hp is really great! While driving, you can feel the surge of acceleration (and the surge of adrenalin!). You feel like like Hrithik Roshan if you give a full twist to the throttle. My Karizma is the first to dash of when the signal turns green, while others try to catch up with me, I look back to see that they are left far behind!
This bike is suitable both for city riding and riding in highways. As you put the fifth gear and slowly accelerate, the bike maintains its stability upto 110 Kmph, but later it gets a little shaky. I have personally tried going upto 125 Kmph, eventhough the claimed maximum speed is higher, I wouldn’t recommend anyone to go faster than 110.
Looking into the dash board of the Karizma, we can see 2 dials, a RPM meter and a Speedometer and next to it is the digital panel which displays Fuel, a Trip meter, total distance and a digital clock! I really love the clock, I do not need to leave the handle bars to check the time in my wrist while driving! Visit the Karizma Photo Gallery to see pictures of the dash board.
The high beam and neutral indicators are situated in the speedometer dial. The indicators are bright enough so that you can easily see its status in bright sunlight.

Hero Honda Karizma
Some people may think that such fast sport bikes are risky, but in my opinion, Karizma is the safest bike in India. Provided with adequate wheel base and body weight, the bike comes to halt easily from very high speeds without losing any stability.
How does it stand out?
For people who love this bike, it is really hard to admire the competition. Right now Pulsar 220cc seems to be the only competition for Karizma, but I would say that it does not even stand a chance with this legend.
Hero Honda Karizma’s high cost and size is not just for the looks and power. Along with it you also get something priceless… the Self Confidence and the King of the Road feeling. If in your college or institution, you are the only one with a Karizma, imagine the kind of feeling of uniqueness you will get. People will admire you for your bike and you will be known as The man who rides the Karizma.
Too many people have already bought Pulsars, CBZs and Apaches.. If you are planning to buy a 150cc bike, wait for a few months, raise some more money and go for the best. Because great people drive great bikes.
This is perhaps the only bike which has got full rating in BikeAdvice’s Reviews.

    Hero Honda CBZ Xtreme

    Hero Honda CBZ XTreme
    How does it look?
The bike has very little resemblance to the old CBZ, the headlights got a completely new design. However this is a small disappointment to CBZ lovers because the new ones do not look as good as the old one and also looks a little small for a bike of this size. The first thing that one would notice in this bike is the indicator lights.
Both the back and front indicators merge with the main lights and it looks really nice and unique. The side part of the bike also got a significant face lift. The coloured body part connects as a single line from the tank to the tail lights and is very nicely contoured. Another feature which adds to its cool looks is the grip handle bars for the pillion rider… standing out as two individual horn like bars, it adds to the uniqueness of CBZ. Also the silencer is new and improved.

    Hero Honda CBZ Xtreme
    How does it perform?
When I took the bike for a test drive, the first thought that came up in my mind was ‘wow! this bike feels just like the Hero Honda Hunk’, then after checking the specifications, I noticed that both Hunk and CBZ have the exact same 149.2 cc Engine. So you can see Hero Honda Hunk Review for more information about performace of CBZ because both hae the same engine! The old CBZ had a 156 cc engine, but did not have the pickup and mileage as that of the present engine. Definitely Hero Honda has made some improvement in the engine for this new CBZ Xtreme. It is also claimed that this new model gives a better mileage than the old one, but I cannot be sure of that unless I hear from a real user of CBZ.
Features: The dash board has 3 dials, one for the speedometer, one for the rpm indicator and another for the fuel indicator… all of them descend in the order of the size… looks nice doesn’t it? The shock absorbers do not have the Gas shock absorber unit as it is advertised in Hunk and other bikes, but I would confidently say that it does not make the slightest difference in ride quality.

    Hero Honda CBZ Xtreme
    How does it stand out?
One of the biggest advantages that this bike has is the CBZ brand name. CBZ has been one of most passionate bikes for a very long time… the name alone is worth a price tag. CBZ was adopted from CBR, which is a very famous 600cc bike in foreign countries. The indicator lights and rear grip bars also make it unique because no other bike in the country has such a feature.
Hero Honda CBZ Xtreme comes in 5 great colours: Sports Red, Candy Blazing Red, Boon Silver Metallic, Black and Vibrant Blue Metallic.

    Specifications:
Engine: Aircooled single cylinder 4 stroke OHC
    Displacement: 149.2 cc
    Maximum Power: 10.6 KW (14.4 PS) @ 8500 RPM
    Maximal Torque: 12.8 N-m @ 6500 RPM
    Gear Box: 5 Speed
Brakes: 240mm Front Disc and 130 mm Rear Drum
    Tires: Front: 2.75 x 18 – 42P, Rear: 100/90 x 18 – 56P
Fuel Capacity: 12.3 Litres (+ 1.5 Ltrs Reserve)

The Hunk has a stepped seat and rear set foot pegs which gives the rider a sporty stance without sacrificing rider comfort. The vibrations are well controlled. The bike also features gas charged adjustable rear shock absorbers and rear tire with a tuff-up tube.

Performance and fuel economy vs speed

“Hunk” appears to be a decent looking motorcycle with its small fairing and has tank shrouds. The tank shrouds are big and Hunk’s tank has good knee recess. Similar to some popular international bikes, Hunk’s telescopic fork is golden in colour. This nicely gels with the 5 spoke black alloy wheels. The gas holder of the year suspension is also golden. Hero Honda’s hunk embraces the contemporary black theme - the handlebar weight, alloy wheels, silencer guard and the grab rail of the new Hunk are painted black. Suspension is through telescopic fork at the front and the rear suspension is a 5 step adjustable gas charged one.
Like Super Splendour Hunk features tripod instrumentation. Fuel gauge, speedometer and rpm meter are analogue. Contemporary pilot lamps and LED tail lamps fails to find a place in the Hero Honda’s new Hunk. Hunk’s battery is the same 12V-7Ah and the ignition is through AMI. Hunk’s engine is same as the X-Treme’s 4 stroke 150cc engine. It develops 14bhp at 8500rpm of power and 12.8Nm of Torque. Hunk’s 150cc engine is mated with a conventional 5speed gearbox. Similar to the TVS CVTi engine the Hunk’s 150cc engine produces tumble induction for efficient burning which means more efficiency.
Hero Honda has launched Hunk at a starting price of Rs 55,000 (at ex-showroom Delhi as on 17th Oct,2007). Hero Honda has launched two variants, kick-start and self-start. While kick-start would be available at Rs 55,000, the company would charge a premium of Rs 2,000 for the self-start model which is priced at Rs 57,000.
It is available in four colours - black, blue, red and silver.

    Bajaj XCD 125 KS

    `

Bajaj launches the 125 cc DTS-Si "XCD"..
As promised, Bajaj has launched its much hyped 125 cc Bajaj XCD (earlier speculated as the “Exceed” or “Xceed”) today on the 9’th of September 2007. The pictures of the XCD that you see.
The 125 cc XCD is a very important bike for Bajaj. Bajaj is taking one more shot at Numero Uno Hero Honda in an attempt to replace its best selling 100 cc Hero Honda Splendor. Bajaj hopes that the extra feature laden XCD with its new engine would be able to lure away customers looking at 100 cc bikes. This is the latest and in this discovery has many models with different cc's.

    Styling:

In an attempt to lower manufacturing costs, most of the Bajaj bikes usually share parts with one another. This definitely results in lower prices but also results in lack of exclusivity for the bikers.

The Headlamp is sharp looking and positioned low to give that crouching look. The XCD also features a Digital Display for a speedometer. The side panels and the tail piece though have been designed for the XCD, looks like have been inspired by the Discover’s side panels and the tail piece of the Pulsar. The tail lamp features LEDs which is a first for any 125 cc bike in India. The tank has plastic extensions like the Pulsar 200. Apart from the aesthetics, I doubt if it is of any practical use. Now, does the tank look a bit familiar to you..?? No, it’s not the Discover’s tank but actually looks quite similar to the “Sonic” concept shown by Bajaj at Auto Expo 2006.

    Folding Number Plate:
A unique feature of the XCD is the “Folding Number Plate”. Instead of a rigidly fixed number plate, a flexible mechanism has been created. Now what happens is that whenever the front suspension of the bike encounters a bump, the number plate swings to and fro so that the LOW headlamp has enough clearance. The benefit of this innovative feature according to Bajaj is that the Headlamp can now be set really low.
Amusing feature I’d say. But I’d actually prefer less loose parts on my bike. Anyway Bajaj has applied for a patent for this unique feature.

    Price:

According to news reports, Bajaj has priced the XCD at around Rs. 41,000-42,000 (Ex-Showroom) which puts it bang in the Splendor category. Bajaj wants to wean away the 100 cc consumers towards the 125 cc XCD. Therefore such a pricing was expected.

    Initial Impression:

The XCD looks like a welcome addition to the promising 125 motorcycle segment. Bajaj has timed the launch of the XCD just before the festive season begins. Bajaj is expected to follow the launch of the XCD with a massive promotional blitz. TV Commercials already proclaim that the 125 cc DTS-Si engine will soon have a bike for it on 10’th September 2007.

Only time will tell how good the125 cc DTS-Si engine is in terms of power, fuel efficiency and reliability. If Bajaj really wants to take splendors place then it really has to ”Exceed” in all these parameters.

Now only if the TVS Flame hadn't raised our expectations with its fresh and sexy styling.

One more thing I would like to mention is that the quality of the photos of the Bajaj XCD were not as impressive as the quality of the photos/wallpapers of the TVS Flame. Moreover design of the TVS Flame is far more exciting than the website for the Bajaj XCD. Probably Bajaj also should look into these small matters as well.
    Bajaj XCD 125 DTS-Si Features
The XCD incorporates the all black theme made popular by the Bajaj Pulsar 180 and the Pulsar 200 and seems to be the latest fad now among bike makers. Stickers on the tank make sure that everybody takes notice that it is the “Bajaj XCD 125”. The bike also incorporates a Electric Starter.

But it has to be said that even though Bajaj has tried to give the XCD a new look, the XCD looks very much similar to the Discover (at least in the pictures) and its no where are fresh a design as the TVS Flame. Although it might be unfair to compare the TVS Flame and the Bajaj XCD , the 125 cc TVS Flame has raised the bar for styling quite high.

    Engine:

Bajaj has given the XCD a new engine with the much touted DTS-Si (Digital Twin Spark Plug – Swirl Induction) Technology. According to Bajaj the new DTS-Si should give 109 Km/l (under ideal test conditions of course). The engine also produces 9.53 Ps of power and 10.85 Nm of torque.

    Bajaj Pulsar 135cc

You've been waiting for the new Pulsar. You've been expecting it to be the biggest Pulsar. What you will get is the smallest Pulsar. Say hello to the Pulsar 135 LS, Bajaj's all-new offering that looks set to create a segment of its own.

    LOOKS
Aesthetically, the 135 LS is an evolution of the Sonic concept that was shown at the last Auto Expo. The front fairing and its 'floating' fairing is reminiscent of the concept, though the production version's shape is more angular and refined. The speedometer, fuel gauge, odometer and trip meter are digital, while the tachometer keeps an analogue face. The front mudguard features ridges on the top to complete the aggressive front look. New clip-on handlebars highlight this motorcycle's sporty intent, while switches and grips are the familiar Bajaj units.

The tank is a sculpted unit and features tank extensions that merge well with the overall look, enhancing the LS's sporty appeal. The seat is a two-piece unit that ends in a slinky-looking tail section devoid of a plastic mudguard. A rear wheel shroud now protects the pillion from whatever the rear wheel might throw up. Oh and lest I forget, the wheels are five-spoke alloys, something that we seem to take for granted these days. What catches your attention is the nifty little number plate holder at the rear, and also the new slash cut-look exhaust that tapers towards the end.

Ahead of Pulsar 135cc launch on December 09, pictures of pulsar started floating across. A Bajaj Pulsar fan club called bajajpulsar org has posted pictures of  the Bajaj pulsar 135cc. From the pictures, pulsar 135cc looks like a fusion of Bajaj XCD sprint (shown at 2008 auto expo) and pulsar 200cc. The styling of this bike is radical with trapezoidal headlamps. The rear muffler and rear number plate are also distinctly styled to resemble larger displacement sports bikes. However, the chain unit is closed one unlike we open chain arrangement in few Bajaj bikes. Pulsar 135cc is powered by 135cc DTS-Si engine which already powers XCD 135cc and develops 10bhp of max power at 7500 rpm. It pumps out 11.58Nm of peak torque at 5000rpm and the engine is mated with a four speed gearbox.  Similar to other Bajaj motorcycles, Pulsar 135cc comes packed with list of features. LED tail lamps, gas charged rear suspension, digital instrumentation, split seats, clip-on handlebar, alloy wheels, handlebar weights and spilit grab rail.

Bajaj Launches Pulsar 250 and 300 cc

    bajaj pulsar
Indian consumer can expect the top end versions to hit the market pretty soon. Presently 220 cc versions are available in the Automobile market. Presently Bajaj is designing strategies so as to take a shot on the potential market growth of top-end domestic bike market in the present scenario. Apparently European motorcycle design consultancy’s resource and design team is sought after with the inclusion of Austrian Bike maker KTM. It can be recalled that Bajaj Auto Manufacturers have a substantial controlling stake in the Austrian Bike Maker company.

The present models those are available in 18,200 and 220 cc versions from Bajaj Ltd have created a niche for themselves in the top-tier consumer market. Apart from which high capacity bikes such as Enfield, Bullet motorcycles and the high priced bikes such as imported Suzuki’s make way for the Indian manufacturer to revive and increase its market penetration. Adding to the advantages of its rapid and robust economic growth are various aspects such as Lower production costs.
Lately, the Indian bike manufactures launched Kawasaki Ninja 250 in India at an anticipated price of Rs.2 Lakhs. With the new motorcycles of 250 and 300 cc valued at lower price it seeks to make a definite mark. Also the added advantage is the development of the new 250,300 cc bikes on an innovative technology practices such as its patented DTS-I technology and the radical Fuel Injection Technology.

    Bajaj Pulsar 220cc DTSi Review

Having reviewed Yamaha R15 and Hero Honda Karizma already, I feel I have really delayed writing a review of Bajaj Pulsar 220. These three bikes are one of the best and fastest models available in India today. The bike I reviewed was Blue in color and looked gorgeous just after the water wash.
    Bajaj Pulsar 220
    Bajaj Pulsar 220
Styling: On the first look of the bike, it looked like a cheetah ready to pounce on me. The head lamp is designed in such a way that it adds a life to the bike. It is nothing short of a face of a robot. Look at the tell tale lights, doesn’t it look like eyes? This is the second bike in India after Karizma which has isolated handle bars (like the real sports bikes). Such bikes position itself as a unique category, a higher status of machines.

The tanks are adopted from the original Pulsar and has a scratch pad near the seat. The tail part is nothing new. It just looks like the other Pulsars and it disappoints me a little bit. Someone looking just the tail wouldn’t be able to differentiate whether it is a Pulsar 220, 200, 180 or 150.

Performance and Handling: The bike has great agility. It has a tendency to ‘jump off’ when you twist the throttle which gives a great adrenaline pump. If you really want to whip the engine to its limits, the Indian city roads will disappoint you.
I own a Karizma, and when I drive the Pulsar 220, I feel as if the bike is light as a feather. There are both pros and cons to this. On my Karizma, I feel more safe and stuck to the road with the heavy solid feeling, but Pulsar 220 seems to be ‘flying’ which is good, but does not give me a safe feeling. The details may be different, but this is what I feel, and you would perhaps feel the same if you test the two bikes. The maximum power is 3 PS more than Karizma, but the top speed is nearly the same – 126 kmph.
Features: No doubt that the Pulsar places itself on par with other high end bikes. The features in the dashboard are nothing short of spectacular. With orange backlit digital console, it displays the speed, fuel level and ODO meter is incorporated below the speedometer. Like the bikes from Honda, Pulsar 220 has single indicator for the signal. The tachometer dial and the digital console perfectly blends with each other.

Verdict: In the test rides, the Pulsar 220 is a little faster than the Karizma, but we have to wait for Karizma Fi, a new version of Karizma that is to be launched soon. Bajaj Pulsar 220 is a great bike overall compared to the other bikes in India, but taking into account the international bikes, its stands no chance against them. Hopefully we can see lot of new technology coming up in Indian bikes in the coming years. If you want a high performance bike, wait a little longer for the new Karizma and then make the decision.
Pros: Pickup, aggressive looks, Pulsar branding
Cons: Not so pleasant engine sound

    Bajaj Pulsar 200 DTSi Review

Bajaj Pulsar 200 DTSi was introduced in the market around 9 months back and it enthralled the Bajaj dealers by raking sales as well as the Indian bike enthusiasts. The bike has a 200cc engine and oil cooler, which is a self-adjustable one- it adjusts the viscosity of the lubricant oil so the overall performance of the bike is enhanced. The shock absorbing quality is enhanced by a large 33mm front fork. This is 200 cc bike it is having extra features then 180 cc.Models are same but cc and features are added in 200cc.

    Bajaj Pulsar 200 DTSi
Pulsar 200 bike has other wooing features such as a stylish petrol tank flap along with an anti-scratch tank pad, ExausTEC technology in the silencer that maintains engine torque, comparatively light weight of the bike, the split seat with better seating space and excellent performance.
Looks: Bajaj Pulsar 200 DTSi is available in eye candy black, red and blue colors and looks deceive you like you got an international sports bike in front of you! The bike has aerodynamically designed petrol tank with tank flaps and beefy front. The bike has great indicator features such as choked air filter indicator, high oil temperature indicator, a low battery voltage indicator and a low engine level indicator…huh! A big long list right?
The sporty looks coupled with greater chassis rear inclination gives this variant of Bajaj Pulsar DTSi second glances be it in a parking lot or on roads! The bike has usual LED tail and brake lights and the main headlamps and parking lamps emit white light with blue-tinged bulbs instead of the yellow light of incandescent bulbs. These are certainly an improved stuff and more friendly to eyes!
Performance: Bajaj Pulsar 200 has a split seat architecture that provides better style and comfort for both rider and pilion. The bike has 200cc powerful engine and the telescopic fork provides better control. The display panel can detect failure in components. Both front and rear wheels have tubeless tyres that are first in the motorcycle market and the wheelbase is 1350mm. The triple rate spring NitroX shockers provide cushion feel and telescopic fork suspension.
The torque of the bike has been improved by ExhausTEC technology and the bike also has an improved clutch system. The gear can be changed easily and it is capable of taking more loads. The presence of oil cooler enhances the engine performance.
The engine has a maximum power of 18ps and you will get an average of 40 km per liter of petrol. The fuel tank has a capacity of 15 liters and has a capacity to store 2 liters of reserve petrol. The oil cooler improves the performance of the engine at high speeds without overheating. Bajaj two wheelers, especially the battery, need low maintenance. Under test condition the fuel efficiency is 50kms/ltr.
Final Verdict: The 18ps pulsating power generated by the 200cc engine provides great riding excitement to bikers, echo all of the Bajaj dealers . It is the first bike in India with tubeless tyres both in front and rear in this segment. The tubeless tyres offer superior stability that is safer than the conventional tube tyres while adding to fuel economy. Better road grip and stability is ensured by the very broad rear tyre. The bike has new digital console with Digital Odometer, Digital Speedo meter, Digital Fuel Gauge and two Digital Trio Meters. This Bajaj bike is the first one with electric start. And needless to say it is very convenient for a city rider. After all, we know the traffic jams right?
Ask me downside of this bike… Well, it doesn’t have a kick-start facility. So when the battery is down (keep looking at the indicator off and on my friend!) or fused out, God save you or you got to push it to a recharge facility!

    Bajaj Pulsar 180cc DTSi Review

Pulsar is a major hit in the market and you know that it comes in four variants. It had created a huge stir in the Indian automobile market in its initial launch year, 2002. The four variants include Pulsar 150 DTSi, Pulsar 180 DTSi, Pulsar 200 DTSi and Pulsar 220 DTSi. Believe me, Pulsars are designed for guys that love high-speed action on road. This is first version in 180 cc and presintly this is modified to look like anger bike.

Looks and Styling: Bajaj Pulsar 180cc is elegant in its looks with aerodynamic shape. It has a flush-fitted tail lamp and thank GOD no tail lamp protuberances. The bike has an LCD speedo and tachometer console. It’s the fuel tank of Pulsar 180cc that gives the muscular shaped body to it. . The tank of Pulsar extends downwards touching the engine head almost.
The black styling provides the bike a sleek as well as subtle aggression. It has a scanty dashboard layout and has a lighter yet stronger alloy wheels that call for low maintenance, as it wouldn’t rust. Switches are convenient for use and there is a tacho; a beam flasher. The posture of Bajaj Pulsar 180cc is so flexible and the bike has a proportionate blend of style and functionality. On the whole, the bike is good in its looks, feel, handling as well as mileage.
Performance: Bajaj Pulsar DTSi has a throttle-actuated ignition control system that works together with a chip-controlled digital capacitor discharge ignition system and this gives accurate ignition time under any condition that in turn optimizes the load-bearing capacity of the engine. The dual-spark design accelerates and evens out flame propagation resulting in more efficient combustion and thereby resulting in a greater performance. The newly designed exhaust complies with the EURO 2005 norms. The 180cc engine of Pulsar delivers maximum power of 16.5bhp @ 8000 rpm and a torque of 15.22Nm @6000 rpm. ExhausTEC technology improves torque of the engine. The engine is powered to carry higher loads.
The stronger alloy wheel coupled with a long wheelbase of 1330mm enhances the stability of the bike and also makes it more agile. One can sit with ease on the bike. Shock absorption is quite good and vibrations are reduced to minimum. The engine is improved with a stable chassis, a new design magnesium alloy wheel and Nitrox shock absorbers, rear suspension with triple-rated springs are some noteworthy features of Pulsar 180cc.
The Nitrox or nitrogen-assisted rear gas shock absorber and the triple-rated springs are meant to handle extreme road conditions and terrain. The pillion seating is comfortable and the bike provides a mileage of about 45-50kmpl.
The fuel efficiency is decent if not astounding running 45-50 km per every liter of fuel. The acceleration of this bike is excellent and linear and enough power on all the gears. The gearing for the first two gears is short that enables the bike for fast changes and good acceleration. The clutch system is improved than the older version. The neat silencer routing ensure the minimum number of turns for exhaust gases while the all-chrome upswept silencer is mounted parallel to the rear sub-frame gives a sporty look.
Final Verdict: The Bajaj Pulsar 180 is a package for young brigade and is a powerhouse with sensational 125kmph top speed. The bike performs well at all speeds and cornering is something commendable. The bike using Digital Twin Technology Ignition (DTSi), Ignition with Digital CDI, Twin Spark Plugs and a third-generation Throttle Responsive Ignition Control System should never let you down as you carry your honey!

Yamaha plans to walk the scoot-way

Yamaha plans to walk the scoot-waysAn Indian customer is the hardest to please, the manufacturers reckon. He wants to the best value for the money he spends, such top notch quality which lasts longer than himself and still doesn't drop a bomb in his pocket. No wonder variomatic scooters in the Indian two-wheeler industry come second on the list (after upto 150 cc commuters) for their practicality and ride-ability to almost all the members of the family. Trying to catch the golden goose, major bike manufacturers have come up with a noticeable range in scooter segment as well and the latest in the league being Japanese two-wheeler giant- Yamaha. After a rather impressive sales chart in commuter bikes segment, the company plans to foray into the scooter market too. R&D for the new scooter has already started and the company promises to showcase a product which meets the challenges and requirements of Indian road conditions the best.

Two-wheeler manufacturers in the country are busy catering the vertical rise in demand for their products. Just yeterday we reported that TVS motors has had a 27% rise in sales figures in november over the same time last year. Looks like its the same recipe in every kitchen. India biggest two-wheeler manufacturer Hero Honda has reported a 10.5% increase in sales for november. They say it is difficult to acheive a  huge improvement when you are at the top but Hero Honda has shown how its done. Their sales figure stand at 4,21,366 units as opposed to 3,81,378 units last novemeber, an increase of almost 40,000 units! Suzuki's indian subsidary has seen an even bigger growth of 77% due to the success of their latest small bike, Slingshot. The highest rise in sales however, has been recorded by Mahindra two-wheelers who recently launched their small bike Stallio in the market. Mahindra two wheelers has reported a mindblowing 125% increase in sales after they sold 15,854 units against a tiny figure of just 1706 units last year

    FZ1 headed to India

Yamaha India will launch the big naked street bike by next month. This is new yamaha bike .

Yamaha's flagship naked bike the FZ1 is all set for an Indian debut in the coming month. According to sources the bike will be priced in the region of Rs. 8-10lakh which will be similar to the competition from Honda and Suzuki as both manufacturers have bikes like CB1000R (Honda) and Bandit (Suzuki) priced in the same region. Apparently Yamaha only has big bikes that are priced above Rs.12lakh. TheFZ1 will make Yamaha more competitive in the big bike game. Yamaha India will be importing the FZ1 in the form of CBU's from Japan but some sources speculate that the company might choose the SKD (Semi-Knocked Down) route in order to make the FZ1 an enticing deal.
